The Atalaya Bomber / A View from the Heights

The word Atalaya means a height from which one can see a vast expanse of land or sea. For me, this jacket embodies that very emotion — the feeling you get after pushing through fatigue, climbing with effort, and finally reaching the peak of a mountain where a breathtaking view of the sea unfolds before your eyes.

Here in Asturias, this sensation is part of daily life. Our mountains stand so close to the ocean that it is possible to experience both in a single glance: the solidity of the earth and the endless horizon of the sea.

The design of the Atalaya Bomber was born from this connection — but also from a personal memory. I found inspiration in a jacket my mother used to wear when I was a child, always in our beach house. Recently, I rescued it from the hanger where it had remained for so many years, and instantly, memories came flooding back.

The image of my mother in that jacket is one of the happiest visions of my childhood. Reinterpreting it now through the Atalaya Bomber is not only a tribute to her but also a way of weaving together memory, landscape, and design.

This piece carries with it the spirit of discovery, the joy of reaching the summit, and the tenderness of cherished memories. It is both a lookout and a shelter — a reminder that what we wear can hold the stories of who we are.
